Pet Food Stamps......A Fraud?!?!?

I have not written anything on this blog for a long time because there really hasn't been anything that upset me enough. Until now. Over the past year, I have been following the new organization titled, "Pet Food Stamps". I watched to see if they fell or if it took off. I read article after article, watched what I could about this organization. Seemed pretty cool and a great idea at the time. A national organization that would be able to help people feed their pet that otherwise would not be able to do so.

Over time, I started noticing people posting things were they were not getting any kind of help. Mostly people that "applied" to this organization when it first started out and not hearing anything back from them. Or not receiving any kind of food at all. I continued watching and got to see that really no one was getting anything from this organization at all. No food, no contact, no emails, phone calls, etc. These people sent in a lot of "personal" information to this organization and were getting nothing in return. I was not the only one watching apparently. I started seeing people blasting this organization for not doing what they said they would do. Oh there were a few people that did receive some food. But, it apparently was a "one time thing" only.

People were beginning to ask questions and to this day, still asking the same questions. "Where is the food you promised to send to me. I sent in all my information....bank statements, social security number, etc." All this very personal information people had to send in to supposedly get food for their pets. Some of these people where and are on disability, single parents, etc., but they were and still are getting snubbed. Not getting answers to question asked.

One main think I noticed about and with this organization is, not ONCE did they even "explain" how this whole thing even worked. How were people supposed to get the pet food? Where is the pet food coming from? Why aren't they getting answers to why they are not getting anything, replies, food, etc.? So I did a little investigating of my own. What I was able to discover was pretty surprising.

Spoke with someone about a post they responded to on the Pet Food Stamps Facebook page. I found out, they sponsored someone's pet. I asked what that meant. They said that people send in pics of their animals and if someone who looks at the pets pics, likes that pet and sponsor's that pet. Meaning, other people "choose" that pet to sponsor and send money for food to be purchased and sent to the pets owner. So to me, unless your pet is "cute" enough, you do not and will not get food for your pet. Pretty much like a "Pet Beauty Pageant". When I posted this information on their Facebook page, the only reply they came back with is, "not true" and that is all it said.

Still, they have not "explained" to anyone how this whole thing works to anyone that asks. If you ask to many questions or challenge this organization in any way, they stop you from posting on their page. But, I guess they can't stop me from posting about them here on my own blog. I will continue to get the word out about this organization and hopefully one day, people will wake up and stop even bothering to try to get any kind of help from them. If people are looking for food for their pets all they have to do is a simple search. Check with local food banks, some have food for pets as well. Check with your vets, check with local pet stores (sometimes they have food that is either just past due date and they pretty much throw it out), check with your church, check other organizations in your area...shelters, other pet organizations that might be able to help. But, stop with this organization, they are only in this for whatever reasons. None of which they have given to anyone.
